The MVT-7100 does not have the capability to be controlled by computer. They came out in the early 90s before computer control became common.

Great scanner besides though, the most sensitive one I own.

Ah damn, foiled again !! :?

I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive scanner with remote control capability with UHF Mil Air coverage.

Any ideas ?

Here is a good list of computer controlled receivers, you might be able to pick one of them up on ebay etc.

Very nice, whats the advantages versus the 785 apart from the GPS feature?

Close call.

PLus the BCT15 may go into the car and the 3500 will be used as a base rig connected to PC for connectivity around the house.

The BCT15 is a DIN which will fit in my car, the 785 was too big.. and there's no way I was drilling or putting in brackets etc.

I won't be using any GPS functionality.

Very good.
I think I wull use the 3500 as my main scanner and get a UBC230 for local airband and VHF marine. Cheaper option.

PLus BCT tool will work with both the BCT15 & 3500.

I would love to get back in to radio again, next purchae will be 706MKIIG but won't be for a while, as I have blow the radio budget after upgrading scanners.

Any downside to getting the BCT15 as opposed to its European version.
