I haven't been to the Limerick rally in years, I might just go along and see a few of the faces that I knew from the club.

Probably only have the handheld with me so either be on the Limerick repeater/simplex frequencies but I am sure I can listen to 446MHz PMR.

Ok fair enough , fair play to you supporting the old home county :) the Limk show seems to be more friendly. Some of the Coast Guard lads attend this one as well as the lads from Ballybunion sea and cliff rescue and one from the community rescue in mountshannon. It usually gets good support. It's worth rising Tony on the door asking him is this the cb radio show? when he tries to explain I always say but why are all the cb'rs here   ..poor man gets confused...they always have a bring and buy sale on one stand to support their local repeater. We can forget about the Cork radio show last year a huge disastor with only two traders and they didn't even get enough tables...definately didn't justify the expence in travelling down there..this one should be better.

For anyone coming from the city side of the raddison there are major road works in the area, diversions are well marked but you have to go out to the next flyover and then make your way back.If people know the back road by L.I.T it would be easier.

Anyone wanna sell Kenwood 870 or 2000 or Yaesu FT1000/2000?
Or buy Kenwood TS850 ? :)

Can't be there, but thinking of selling my TS850 and upgrade to 870 or better.

Do prefer to buy from trusted person and preferably see it and touch it before. Have a bad experience form Lamm Communication (not the company itself - a decent one, but a private sales). But this time I am at work and no fun at rally :(

I'd love to try a IC-7000 but they are too expensive.

1350 euro for a ft2000 is very good value the price of gear has gone mad in the last 6months. you should have held onto that 847 some good stuff to be worked on 10m lately.

May I suggest that the venue in Cork with 'Plenty of Parking' is perhaps too well known and a venue with genuine parking might be worth investigating. But I hasten to add that, in Cork, you'd probably need to attach the radio show and fair onto something else.

You've reawakened my interest in this little device, I got one as part of a deal some while ago, never liked it but did not realise what it is until I looked it up after seeing this post.

I'll have to read the manual and try again. :)

Just wondering does there be any shows in Dublin or Galway? I'd be interested in attending one to see what's on offer and meet other enthusiasts but Limerick or Cork does be a bit too far for me.
