Radio Talk / Re: Cork Airport Police Tetra

I'm sure they still have air-band receive and possibly a common tetra talk-group with customs & Gardai in case it hits the fan.

Interesting one about Zello.  I use the free version with friends who were once on CB.  Works great, especially if you have handsets like these...

Cork Airport Police now using tetra. Assume they will still be operational on analog to gain access to Airfield from the Tower. C.C.F.B also using it for major incidents.

I wouldn't call myself a frequent flyer but I did notice the DP3600's alright.

A good while back, the analog frequency was very quiet and I had suspicions they were either testing DMR or had migrated straight away.

Unless a user changes repeater provider, the analog frequency is recycled to DMR and either dual mode rigs already in use are reprogrammed to digital or a batch of new rigs are put into use.

I have it on good authority they are under NDRS now (but I'll keep an open-mind)

Thx for your comment omnia

They where trying DMR for a Bit.
i spoke to Two members of the airport police recently and made a comment about their Dp3600 radios, they laughed at the way the airport was messing around with their radio system.
Could they have moved to DMR instead of tetra ?

Sorry that no one replied to you. You might be better off on YouTube and look up or google Radio astronomy.

Nice to meet some old familiar faces. Even met a few of the keyboard police. I was told nothing changed, the same old ding dong and the same old codgers thinking that they are working for COMREG objecting to everything that don't suit them. Taught :) they would be in an old folks home by now with a mag mount clipped to the wheelchair.  8)
